According to Belgian trade statistics made available in Tokyo, Belgium's ferrous scrap exports totaled 3,245,000 tonnes in calendar 2009, up by 10.5% YoY.
In the breakdown by main destinations, Turkey ranked first at 1,300,000 tonnes or 40% of the total, up by 42.4% YoY, France second at 610,000 tonnes or 18.8%, up by 12.5% YoY, Luxembourg third at 258,000 tonnes or 8%, down by 46% YoY, Egypt fourth at 220,000 tonnes or 6.8%, down by 27.7% YoY, the Netherlands fifth at 210,000 tonnes or 6.5%, down by 17.4% YoY and India sixth at 136,000 tonnes or 4.2%, up by 46.6% YoY. |
