| Silicon Metal Market Continued to Go Downward |
|
| Code:MFN002013 Prpduct:Silicon Metal Date: 2010-06-07 |
Entering June, domestic silicon metal market still kept downward, and its prices showed constant decrease, but few deals were finished at last.
As we know, price for 553# cut to RMB11,000-11,200/mt (USD1,617-1,647/mt) delivered to the port in early-June; price for 441# also declined to RMB12,200-12,400/mt (USD1,794-1,823/mt); price for 3303# and 2202# in Yunnan province were offered at a low level of RMB12,300-12,500/mt (USD1,808-1,838/mt) and RMB12,700-12,900/mt (USD1,867-1,897/mt) respectively.
At the same time, oversea buyers showed no interest in purchasing Chinese silicon metal. It is reported that export price for 553# decreased to USD1,980-2,020/mt FOB in early-June; 441# price dropped to USD2,080-2,160/mt FOB; price for 3303# and 2202# also descended to USD2,200-2,280/mt FOB and USD2,320-2,380/mt FOB respectively.
In fact, insiders indicate that the current silicon metal price nearly approaches producers’ production cost. If government makes great efforts to punish those high-consuming and high-pollution plants, later silicon metal market will be affected. Insiders predicted that silicon metal market would be stable in the coming days. |
